Members of the Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressives Grand Alliance in Nasarawa State have mobilised support for the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that they were seen on Tuesday at Jonathan’s presidential campaign in Lafia displaying posters of different candidates contesting election in the parties.
Some supporters said they were members of APGA, but have adopted Jonathan is their presidential candidate.
They said their support for the re-election of Jonathan was due to his ability to manage the economy effectively in spite of the security challenges in the country.
Bala John, the Director of Administration of Labaran Maku Governorship Campaign Organisation, said: “The President is a good man and means well for this country.”
John added that some projects he executed included revival of the railways, introduction of the standard gauge rail line, construction of 10 power plants and establishment of more universities.
He said he had also built over 125 Almajiri schools in the Northern parts of the country.
John added: “No president has ever executed the number of projects like Jonathan has done in Nasarawa State.”
Also, Joshua Marisco, the Chairman of Neighbour to Neighbour for Maku, said the President would have transformed the country beyond imagination if not for the security challenges in some parts of the country.
Sani Abdullahi, a PDP member from Lafia, said Jonathan will get more than 80 per cent of votes from the state because of the projects he did in the state.
“Some of the projects include Federal University, Federal Secretariat in Lafia, construction of Doma and Awe roads and Federal High Court in Lafia, among others,” Abdullahi said.
Juliana Sabo said as far as she was concerned, “Jonathan is one of the best presidents this country has ever produced”.
Sabo said because of the President’s transformation agenda, he deserves to be given another term in order to consolidate on the achievements.
