There was panic in Allen Avenue area of Lagos State on Friday when an electronic billboard suddenly went up in flames.
The billboard, with capacity to stream several advertisements in quick succession, created a huge fire when it caught fire.
Those around the billboard, located at Allen Avenue Roundabout, scampered for safety as the fire raged.
Officers and men and the Lagos State Fire Service were said to have raced to the scene to contain the fire.
As at the time of filing this report, the fire had been largely contained.
The suspicion is that it was caused by a surge in power.
