Senator Manny Pacquiao on Monday said he and Floyd Mayweather are set to finalize this week whether to close the deal for another boxing match possibly December this year.
The senator said there is a “big possibility” of facing Mayweather again in the boxing arena.
“Malaki, malaki (There’s a big chance to fight him again). Gusto n’yang bumalik e. Gusto n’ya agawin ang belt ko (He wants to come back. He wants to get my championship belt),” said Pacquiao in an interview.
The Pambansang Kamao was referring to his World Boxing Association welterweight title, which he snatched from Argentian boxer Lucas Matthysse when he knocked him out during their fight in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on July 15, 2018.
However, Pacquaio declined to make any assurance that the fight will pursue.
He said: “We can’t tell because we have yet to talk this week.
“We’ll discuss the timing, month, and the conditions of the agreement.”
Pacquiao said he is amenable to the initial proposal of Mayweather to hold their bout in December this year.
He said: “That is one of the considerations that we are looking into, that it will not affect our work in the Senate.”
