The Super Falcons camp was thrown into joyous mood on Friday following the arrival of Liverpool Ladies club striker, Asisat Oshoala, to the Abuja camp of the African champions.
The reigning African woman footballer of the year hit camp at precisely 8.15pm to the warm embrace of teammates, coaches and officials who celebrated her arrival with pomp.
Looking tired after the long journey from England where she plies her trade with Women Super league side, Liverpool FC, Oshoala said she can’t wait to get down to the business that brought her home.
“I am overwhelmed by the welcome given to me by my team mates and officials and I must confess that I have missed them so much and I cannot wait to train with them again as we plot how to beat Mali,” she stated
She continued: “I am not here for jokes but for the business of beating Mali and securing All Africa Games ticket. I want to help the team win and does not matter whether I score so long as we win and qualify.”
The former Rivers Angels striker spoke well of the spirit in camp, stressing that the spirit is result oriented and all things being equal, it will see them crush Mali on April 10 in Abuja.
