Nigeria’s Blessing Okagbare on Friday won the bronze medal in the women’s 200 metres at the World Athletics Championship in Moscow, Russia.
Okagbare, who had earlier won a silver medal in the women’s long jump, came third with a time of 22.32 seconds behind Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, who won the gold medal in 22.17 seconds, and Ivory Coast’s Murielle Ahoure, who also finished in 22.32 seconds but had a quicker reaction time of 0.180 as against Okagbare’s 0.154.
With the bronze, Nigeria moved up to the 21st position on the medals table.
