Laidi Bashir, the coach of Osun Babes Football Club, says his team’s upcoming game against hosts Abia Angels in the ongoing Nigeria Women Premier League on Wednesday would be tough.
Bashir told the News Agency of Nigeria on Tuesday in Abuja however that in spite of their opponents’ strength, his team was hopeful of picking the game’s three points.
He said: “We hope for a better result than what we had against Pelican Stars of Calabar where we drew 1-1 last week.
“Abia Angels are a very strong side and they also have a very good and experienced tactician in Ann Chiejine.
“We know its going to be tough, but we are positive and really hopeful for a very good result.”
The coach has made a few changes to his squad against the Umuahia-based Abia Angels.
Players like Esther Elijah, Iloduba Sarah, Kemi Abiodun, Akpojotor Rachael, Akubo Obianuju and Mary Anjor are available to the Osogbo-based side for the trip.
NAN reports that the 2017/2018 NWPL season began on April 7 with an abridged league competition which has seen 16 clubs grouped into two.
