Super Eagles’ new discovery, Uche Nwofor, has finally debuted for SC Heerenveen of Holland as he played with the club’s reserves against Young Heracles.
“It took some getting used to,” says Nwofor on the club. “It was difficult to properly feel when and how I wanted the ball. For my team mates sometimes I wanted to come into the ball and they played the ball right into the depths. Conversely happened. That you often see at a first game.”
Trainer, Marco Roelofsen, looked the same.
Roelofsen said: “A new striker in the team is always used.
“Nwofor well as the other players need to be well attuned to touch.
“So it took a while before we knew him to achieve.
“Nwofor has in this contest in any case showed that he is dangerous with speed.
“He is at his best when he has space. At VVV-Venlo was on the opponent often space behind the defence. Then he comes into its own.”
The Nigerian striker hopes to make the main body of Heerenveen debut soon.
He said: “I really want to play in the first team. There I will work hard for the next time.”
