Kano Pillars Football Club on Sunday beat visiting Doma United of Gombe 3-1 in the ongoing Nigeria Professional Football League 2023/2024 season in Kano.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the Match Day 33 fixture was watched by a large number of spectators.
It was played at the 16,000 capacity Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar-Mata.
NAN reports that the home team took advantage of the massive support and dominated most parts of the encounter, thereby converting scoring chances in the process.
Mustafa Ibrahim opened the scoring in the 14th minute, while Abubakar Babawo doubled the lead in the 19th minute.
Musa Usman scored a consolation goal for the visitors in the 80th minute, while Suleiman Idris scored the third goal in added time.
Speaking after the game, acting Coach of Kano Pillars, Ahmed Garba, expressed satisfaction with his players’ performance throughout the encounter.

Garba said the victory would boost his team’s morale towards making a great impact in the remaining matches.
On his part, Bala Abubakar, coach of Doma United, described the match as difficult.
Abubakar said: “But we are going back to the drawing board to prepare for the remaining league matches.”
He also commended his team for their efforts and fighting spirit.
Kano Pillars now have 47 points from 33 matches and occupy ninth position in the table.
