Nigeria will not break, Jonathan restates

Despite the various challenges confronting the nation, President Goodluck Jonathan is still very optimistic that the security challenge in particular, will not break Nigeria.
The frequent bomb attacks by the dreaded Islamist sect, Boko Haram, notwithstanding, the President told Nigerians to keep the faith as the country will remain one.
President Jonathan spoke during the Easter Sunday service at Our Saviour’s Church, Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos.
According to him, the effects of the spate of terrorist attacks in the country could have been more devastating if not for the prayers of Nigerians.
He therefore, enjoined peace loving people of the country not to compromise but to intensify fervent prayers for the peace and stability of the country
In particular, President Jonathan urged Christians to imbibe the teachings of Christ, which centered on peace and unity, noting that they came to this world at a critical time of human existence.
His words: “We have challenges as a nation, especially theses days of terrorism.
“We are working very hard to make sure that terrorism does not divide Nigeria.
“We have challenges as a nation but we must go where we want to go.
“As a president, I promise I’ll do my best.”
The President also used the occasion to reassure the people that the issue of power outage would soon be a thing of the past, adding: “We promise that we’ll stabilize power in this country.
“God willing, next year they will not take light again.”
The Vicar, Venerable Igein Isemede, earlier in his sermon, spoke on the reflection of the death and resurrection of Christ.
Isemede posited that the facts were there for all to see.
