Nigeria wanted me – Ex-Egypt manager

Former Egypt national team manager, Hassan Shehata, has confirmed that he was approached by Nigeria and Ghana, but the negotiations broke down.
The 69-year-old has parted ways with Petrojet after losing 1-0 to Nasr Lel Taa’deen at home, but he revealed that he is not thinking about retirement.
“I don’t think about retirement. I have received offers from the Nigerian and Ghanaian national teams, but the negotiations have broken down,” Shehata said.
“I want to take a break until the end of the season after leaving Petrojet. I have several offers from African and Arab national teams, but I will not reveal them now,” he added.
Shehata led Egypt to three consecutive African Cup of Nations between 2006 and 2010, but since then has failed to lift a trophy despite managing giants like Zamalek, Qatari side Al-Arabi, and Morocco’s Difaâ Hassani El-Jadidi.
