The Nigeria Football Federation on Tuesday did the unthinkable when it paid members of the victorious Super Falcons that qualified the country for the African Women Cup of Nations a paltry N10,000 each as winning bonus.
The Super Falcons had on Tuesday defeated their counterparts from Senegal, the Terenga Lioness, by 2-0 to qualify for the AWCON.
By the win, the Falcons had a 3-1 edge over the Terenga Lioness after the first leg ended 1-1.
Some of the players told The Eagle Online that all they got after being in camp for 45 days and winning the qualifier was N10,000.
One of them said the money could not even take her back to her base in Nigeria.
The players said this was not good for the morale of the team.
For the foreign based players, they got the refund for their return ticket in addition to the N10,000.
