The National Examination Council on Wednesday called on the public to disregard online publications purporting that the council is planning to recruit new members of staff, explaining that it was the antics of fraudsters to dupe unsuspecting applicants.
The Acting Registrar of the Council, Abubakar Gana, stated this in a statement issued by his Head of Information and Public Relations, Azeez Sani, who noted that the report of recruitment was false and the imagination of fraudsters.
Gana said: “The Council enjoins members of the public to disregard the publication as it has no plan to recruit new staff. The Council hereby strongly states that the publication is the product of the imagination of fraudsters who are out to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.”
He said the leadership of the Council has issued stern warning to fraudsters involved in the scam, adding that anyone caught in the nefarious act will face the wrath of the law.
He said the public, especially applicants, should shun the antics of the fraudsters in order not to fall victim
Gana said the leadership of NECO was on the same page with the change mantra of the present administration of President Muhammedu Bahari, which is optimized by transparency and zero tolerance for impunity.
