NCC Board: Saraki responsible for my rejection – Kwara nominee

A former Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly and President Muhammadu Buhari’s nominee to the Board of the Nigerian Communications Commission, Yissa Benjamin, has accused the President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, of being responsible for his rejection by the Senate.
Benjamin said this at a news conference on Saturday.
He said he was a victim of witch hunt since he was not nominated by Saraki.
He said the claim by the Senate that he was not qualified for the position as a professional nurse was wrong.
Benjamin said he is a professional nurse, a certified graduate of Social Policy and Planning, a former Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly for four years and experienced in public service and administration.
He said: “They said that Saraki would oppose my nomination because he did not nominate me.
“I was not disqualified because of experience, but because I am not in line politically with the Senate President.”
