Much-awaited Metro Pro League Lagos 2015/2016 league season is slated for kick off on Thursday as Nath Boys Football Club battle debutant, Pepsi Football Academy, at the Agege Stadium.
The tie is slated for 4pm.
Victor Akinyooye, Metro Pro League CEO, disclosed that six clubs have been registered to participate this season and they would play 15 rounds, with each team playing every other team three times.
Akinyooye said: “We adopted this format due to the reduced number of teams for the upcoming season and to finish in time to commence preparations for the 2016/2017 league season later this year.
“This format is also being used in the Australian Professional League (A-League).”
The registered clubs, according to Akinyooye, are 36 Lion Football Club, Bridge Football Club, Nath Boys Football Club, Remo Stars Football Club, Pepsi Football Academy and the Saints Football Club.
Akinyooye added that the famous Agege Stadium and Children International School, Lekki will play as host to the league matches.
Meanwhile, League management has taken delivery of branded balls for matches this season.
