The Lekki Concession Company Dedicated Police Patrol Team have foiled a car snatching operation by a gang of armed robbers.
The robbers were attempting to snatch a Toyota Camry with registration number EPE 685 CP at gunpoint at Oniru intersection on the Lekki-Epe Expressway.
The LCC Dedicated Patrol Team is part of the security arm of the company set up to complement the efforts of security agents at tackling crimes, especially at the Lekki/Ajah/Epe axis.
The team, led by Inspector Adebisi Abraham, responded to a distress call that a gang of robbers was operating at Oniru intersection.
The team swung into action, met the three robbers in the car of the victim, Joseph Mican, a resident of Abraham Adesanya Estate, Ajah.
The robbers were in the process of strangling Mican with a cable when the LCC Dedicated Patrol Team happened on them.
One of the robbers was arrested, while the other two escaped.
The suspect, Oday Francis, a resident of Igbo Efon, was arrested with the cable used for the offence.
The arrested robber was later handed over to the Maroko Police Division for further investigation and possible prosecution.
