Lagos Traffic Radio has introduced a new programme tagged: “Events Traffic Diary,” to provide detailed traffic information for motorists and suggest alternative routes to reduce travel time in cases where traffic is held up due to ongoing events.
This disclosure was contained in a statement issued by the General Manager of the Station, Tayo Akanle, stating that the programme was designed to help motorists in Lagos make informed decisions when there is traffic gridlock on roads due to the activities at Event Centres.
“The Traffic Dairy will assist motorists to plan their routes, especially as we move towards the festive period with its attendant consequences such increased celebrations hosted by Event Centres on some major roads, resulting in high vehicular movements” Akanle stated.
While noting that relevant stakeholders have been engaged towards having up-to-date relevant information for the programme, Akanle revealed that the programme would be on the station’s airwaves and social media platforms on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8:20am, 1:20pm, 3pm and 5:10pm.
He, therefore, urged motorists and residents alike to take advantage of the information provided and use it to plan their movements around the city, especially in areas hosting Events Centres.
The General Manager also implored motorists across the State to always obey traffic laws, as this forms part of the Traffic Management and Transportation components of T.H.E.M.E.S’ developmental agenda of the present administration in the Lagos State.
