The Lagos State Taskforce on Sunday morning arrested 40 suspected miscreants at their different hideouts at the popular Oshodi Market.
Adebayo Taofiq, the Head of Public Affairs Unit of the taskforce, confirmed the arrest to newsmen.
Taofiq said the arrest was made after the State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, directed the chairman of the taskforce, SP Olayinka Egbeyemi, to carry out the operations.
The statement said: “During the raid, 39 males and one female were arrested.
“Owoseni directed that all those arrested during the operations be charged to Lagos State Environmental Sanitation and Special Offences Courts in Ogba, Lagos.
“The commissioner further directed that raiding of miscreants and hoodlums at different parts of the state, particularly at Oshodi, would be a continuous exercise.”
Taofiq advised parents to always monitor the activities of their children, especially when they claimed they are coming to Lagos without any tangible job or relations to stay with.
He said some of the suspects arrested claimed they came to Lagos to “hustle”, but later join bad gangs at Oshodi to pick pockets.
