Controversial social media critic, Martin Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has said he would back Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, if the latter vies for governor of Lagos State in 2027.
VeryDarkMan made this known in a video he posted on Instagram on Friday.
According to him, supporting Seyi to be governor of Lagos would signal a shift in Nigeria’s politics for young people to take over political offices.
While neither Seyi nor his father has spoken publicly about the governorship contest, several groups have endorsed Seyi for the office of governor.
The 39-year-old Seyi will be 42 in 2027 and could be the youngest governor in the history of Lagos.

“If Seyi Tinubu decides to run for governorship…I’m going to campaign for him. I don’t do politics but I’ll do politics because of Seyi Tinubu,” VeryDarkMan stated.
He added, “Based on my calculation, Seyi Tinubu is a bridge to get something that I want, something that I believe will make Nigeria work.”
According to social media personality, Seyi plays his father’s kind of politics where he positions people early enough in different levels of relevance to do his bidding.
VDM said he suspects that Seyi already has loyalists in advantageous positions.
He opined that those loyalists are not likely to be older folks because they would be difficult for him to control.
With Seyi as governor of Lagos State, VDM posited that he is likely to begin supporting his loyalists to emerge as governors and top political office holders in different states.
He also predicted that young folks may then rebel against Seyi, leading to positive outcomes for the country.
