JIBWIS empowers 81 unemployed graduates in Jigawa

The Jigawa Chapter of the Jama’atu Izaltil Bid’ah Wa’ Ikamatis Sunnah says it has trained and empowered 81 unemployed graduates in Jigawa.
Chairman of JIBWIS in the state, Malam Abubakar Jibril, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Dutse on Sunday that the training was conducted between December 10 and December 14.
Jibril said the beneficiaries, comprising 54 males and 27 females were drawn from the 27 local government areas of the state.
He explained three unemployed graduates, two males and one female were selected from each of the 27 LGAs.
The chairman added that the male trainees were trained in mobile phone repairs, while the female were trained in bead making.
According to him, the gesture was to reduce unemployment and crimes among unemployed in the state.
Jibril said that it was also to enable women become self-reliant through productive activities.
He said the training would enable beneficiaries to set up their own businesses and become employers of labour.
He said: “The JIBWIS feels it should contribute its quota to youth development in the state and Nigeria in general.
“The gesture is also one of our initiatives to complement the state and Federal Government’s efforts in tackling unemployment among our teeming youths and unemployed graduates.”
NAN reports that each of the 81 beneficiaries was given N10, 000 seed capital to set up petty businesses.
Some of the beneficiaries, Ibrahim Muhammad and Maryam Sama’il, commended the JIBWIS for the gesture and promised to make good use of the skills they acquired.
