The Plateau State Governor, Da Jonah Jang, has called on the contractors handling various projects in the state to live up to the contract specifications or face sanctions.
Governor Jang gave the warning while undertaking a tour of ongoing projects in the state.
He expressed disappointment with some contractors who have abandoned road maintenance in the state.
He said: “I am inspecting all the projects, not only the roads, but those that are under construction, including three government science secondary schools in Kuru, Government Science Secondary School in Manguna North Central and Government Girls Science Secondary School in Shendam, Southern Plateau.”
Jang commended the contractor handling the 50km Rukuba, Miango and Farin gada Road for quality and standard job.
He was however displeased with the contractor handling the President Goodluck Jonathan Way.
Jang ordered the Commissioner of Land and Survey, Hon. Yilji Gomwalk, to check the encroachment of people into the Jos Wildlife Park.
He said buildings are springing up there that has no proper documents.
The Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum lamented the poor drainage system on the road linking Rukuba and Miango.
He directed the contractor to improve on this.
