Troops of the 3 and 7 Divisions of the Nigerian Army supported by the Nigerian Air Force, have on April 9 recaptured more towns in Borno State.
The towns include Bita, Izge, Yamteke and Uba in Askira Uba and Damboa local government areas.
This was contained in a statement issued on Friday in Abuja by Colonel Sani Usman, the Acting Director of Army Public Relations
Usman said the recapture of the towns was in continuation of the push to capture Sambisa forest, after the recapture of Gwoza town and Alagarno forest.
He said during the encounter, one soldier “paid the supreme price”, while 10 others sustained various degrees of injury.
“Similarly, a lot of Boko Haram terrorists were equally killed and recoveries made,” he said.
