Super Eagles’ striker, Ikechukwu Uche, has been ruled out as his Villareal clashes against star-studded Real Madrid in a La Liga fixture on Saturday at the Bernabeu.
The ‘Garri Master’, as Uche is fondly referred to by his admirers, suffered a hamstring strain on his right leg on Monday night while featuring for his club against Osasuna.
Uche, who was stretched off in the first half of Monday’s game, has undergone medical tests, which confirmed that the injury was not so serious but the player must be prevented from joining the party to Santiago Bernabeu.
The player, who has scored his ninth goal of the season, is being tipped to return into the Super Eagles squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
