The World Igbo Congress (WIC), the umbrella body of Igbo people resident in the United States of America and Canada, unequivocally condemns the dastard massacre of ndi Igbo in Ukpabi Nimbo in Uzo Uwani Local Government Area, Enugu State, Nigeria on Monday, April 25, 2016 by reportedly over 500 AK-47 carrying Fulani terrorists who are being disguised as herdsmen. Uzo Uwani, located at the border of Kogi and Anambra States, is a peaceful Igbo community that has been plunged into turmoil by the senseless killings of these maniacal marauders whose victims include children and women that were slaughtered in their sleep with brazen indifference to the value of human life.
WIC condemns the complacency of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration as it prevaricates in clamping down on the murderous rampage of these Terrorists who roam about with Heavy AK-47 assault riffles while being quick to unleash the lethal force of members of the Nigerian Armed Forces with heavy artillery on unarmed members of Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) during a Prayer rally at the National High School, Aba, Abia State on Tuesday, February 9, 2016, killing ten persons and injuring many others.
It is noteworthy that Buhari’s administration which ordered Nigerian Service Chiefs to deal with pipeline vandals in the Southern part of the country as they treat Boko Haram members has not found it necessary to give the same marching order to contain these rampaging Fulani murderers, who kidnapped the former Secretary to the Federal Government of Nigeria and former Federal Minister of Finance, Chief Olu Falae, only to release him after his family reportedly paid them Five Million Naira (N5,000,000.00) ransom or after they slaughtered over 300 people in Agatu Local Government Area in Benue State as they overran the community, raping their women and forcefully occupying their land for the grazing of their cattle.
If President Buhari does not take quick and serious steps to stop this wanton and incessant lawlessness of the Fulani’s mob in Alaigbo, the WIC will have no choice but to unreservedly support and encourage such groups as the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) and Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) in the South-East; Niger Delta groups in the South-South and the Agbekoya Farmers Association of Nigeria and the Odua Peoples Congress (OPC) in the South-West to defend their people and territories from these Fulani terrorist attacks.
WIC unequivocally calls on ndi Igbo, particularly Igbo youths, to exercise their right to self defense against these Cowardly Terrorizing Fulani Murderers.
The WIC cautions the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association and its Plateau State Chairman, Mr. Nuru Abdullahi, who is credited with a statement in the May 1, 2016 Sunday Punch that “nobody could deprive Fulani herdsmen of their constitutional right of free movement” by redirecting Abdullahi and his Fulani kinsmen that the fundamental right to free movement as enumerated in Section 41 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999, as amended, does not include the right to terrorize, rape, maim and kill.
The WIC once again calls on President Buhari, the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Solomon Arase, the Attorney General of Nigeria, Mr. Abubakar Malami, Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu, Gov. Rochas Okorocha, Gov. Willie Obiano, Gov. David Umahi, Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa, Gov. Ezenwo Wike and all the Igbo members of the Federal and State Houses of Assembly to take all necessary and proper steps to contain these rampaging murderous Fulani Terrorists disguising as herdsmen to avert the Nigerian polity from the imminent road to perdition these Fulani Terrorists are bent plunging the country into.
Enough is enough.
