Have you ever wondered, if you are sexually compatible with your partner? Some people get married before finding out that they are not.
It is something to be taken seriously and considered before committing to any kind of sexual relationship, especially marriage.
This is because it is one of the major causes of divorce.
What exactly is sexual compatibility?
It is when both parties have the same sexual needs and are satisfied with their shared experience. This includes having the same sexual turn-ons and libido.
Sexual compatibility should come naturally, although for some lucky ones, it develops over time by keeping communication open.
I know not all of us are great at communicating, particularly about sex. Still, it is necessary. Couples need to talk about their sexual expectations and needs. It may feel awkward at first, but it gets better.
Sexual compatibility is a lot more significant in the well being of a relationship than it is given credit for. Human beings need sex. Sex is vital for our physical happiness, even though we pretend it is not.
When couples are not able to fulfil each other’s sexual needs and desires, dissatisfaction in marriage is the obvious result. And since our society has made sex a taboo, couples find attributing sexual incompatibility as the reason for their divorce, embarrassing.
The difference in level of libido is the most common complaint. It is a stereotype that men always want more sex than women. This is not accurate at all. It is very much an even split between which sex has the higher sex drive, and often the older the couple, the more likely it is to be the woman who is dissatisfied with the amount of sex the couple is having.
Talking about what we like and don’t like in the bedroom before entering it with someone new allows us to get to know our partners more. Unfortunately, this discussion is overlooked and rarely ever happens.
Communication and a willingness to make things better remain the key if you want to work on being sexually compatible with your partner.
You have to be willing to share your wants and desires, your kinks and your fetishes, with your partner. Having a fulfilling sex life will be near impossible if your partner is ignorant of what you want and crave, and you refuse to let them know.
Speak up! Express your desires. Your partner may just be waiting for you to speak up.
If that doesn’t work, then other alternatives can be explored.
Have fun.
