The Nigeria Football Federation has handed down more sanctions to the Jigawa Golden Stars following their fans’ unruly behaviour, which led to the abandonment of the Week
One national league match against Wikki Tourists FC in Dutse.
The Nigeria National League had earlier in the week rolled out several sanctions against the erring club but the parent body, NFF, on Friday added to the club’s woes by
spelling out more punishments to serve as a deterrent to other teams.
Among the fresh punishments given to Jigawa Golden Stars by the NFF Disciplinary Committee include the payment of N530,000 without any delay or face more sanctions for acts of hooliganism.
The Disciplinary Committee, which sat in Abuja during the week, asked the club to pay N80,000 for the destruction of Wikki Tourists video camera and another N250,000 for the damaged video cassette of the match in line with Article 6.5(2) .
It will also pay N250,000 to the assaulted match officials and all the monies must be paid up before the next home game of the club.
Meanwhile, the NNL had written to the participating clubs through the secretaries of their home Football Associations and club Chairmen to forward without delay scanned copies of the International Passports, Driving Licenses or National ID cards to the NNL secretariat in Abuja on or before February 24, 2014 to enable it send it to the Corporate Affairs Commission to expedite the processing of the NNL Limited.
