Hammers hold Red Devils

Manchester United were held to a disappointing goalless draw at home to West Ham.
Louis van Gaal’s men were also dealt further injury blows with Morgan Schneiderlin and Paddy McNair going off injured – Michael Carrick and debutant Guillermo Varela replacing them.
Marouane Fellaini replaced injured captain Wayne Rooney with Jesse Lingard and Schneiderlin also returning to the line-up at the expense of Ashley Young and Carrick.
But it was West Ham who had the best chances to score in the first half, hitting the woodwork twice through Winston Reid and Mauro Zarate in quick succession.
United dominated possession as they often have this season but failed to make the most of their chances.
Anthony Martial, Fellaini and Bastian Schweinsteiger all failed to convert in the second half, with Adrian making a good save to deny the towering Belgian.
The draw sees United fail to overtake rivals Manchester City, who lost 2-0 to Stoke earlier in the day, although they are now level on points with Manuel Pellegrini’s team.
Arsenal and Leicester both won to pull clear of the Red Devils, who remain fourth.
