There was apprehension in Aba, the commercial hub of Abia State Tuesday evening, when gunmen reportedly killed two policemen.
The incident, it was gathered, happened at the popular SAMECK junction linking road users and visitors to the popular shoe market, Old Express and Ariaria International market respectively.
Reports said the policemen were killed at the same spot where yet-to-be-identified gunmen attacked and killed four men in a commercial bus believed to be taskforce members of the government four months ago.
It was gathered that the police team reportedly providing escort to a State Government official that was on a visit in the area was caught unaware as the attackers also made away with guns belonging to the deceased policemen.

Sources in the area said the gunmen apparently had been monitoring the team and decided to launch the attack at the busy junction. which also provided them an easy route of escape, taking advantage of the busy and rowdiness of the area
The incident, sources revealed occurred at 5 pm when traders and customers were scampering to leave the Ariaria International Market, forcing them to abandon their wares on the road while some who had boarded vehicles and tricycles hopped out to scamper for safety.Abia Police Spokesman, ASP Maureen Chinaka was yet to react to incident messages as of the time of filing this report. The Nation
