The Niger State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, has disclosed that as part of his plans to support hard work, he will empower all principals of secondary schools and headteachers of primary schools with cars and motorbikes.
The governor while making this promise, also said he will give priority to women and youth empowerment in the 2017 budget so that they can be independent and self reliant.
Speaking on behalf of Bello, the Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Jonathan Vatsa, on Monday told journalists in Minna that 2017 will be a year of hope for all Nigerlites.
According to Bello: “Apart from the secondary schools’ principals and primary schools headteachers that will benefit, all village heads in the state will also get a car loan to ease their movements.
“These are the set of people who have really affected lives.
“They have impacted immensely on the lives of children and people in their communities and it is only pertinent for government to support them to succeed.”
Bello added that despite the economic downturn, this is part of measures taken by the government to alleviate the sufferings of the people of the state
