The Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, on Monday filed a notice of appeal and application for stay of execution at the Court of Appeal in Abuja against the ruling of Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court.
Justice Abang had on Monday ruled that Ikpeazu should vacate his seat immediately for Samson Ogah against whom he stood for the primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party in December 2014.
He said Ogah was the rightful owner of the PDP governorship ticket based on the allegation that Ikpeazu presented forged tax certificates to his party to qualify to stand for the primaries.
