Browsing: Governor Okezie Ikpeazu

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State on Monday swore in Prof. Mkpa A. Mkpa as Chairman of the State Independent Electoral Commission, urging him to discharge his duty without fear or favour.

Abubakar, who had earlier arrived Ekiti State House at 11.30am with a crop of top-notch party stalwarts that included the Director of his Campaign, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, and two other ex-governors, Peter Obi and Dr. Babangida Aliyu, reminded the grand assembly of his long standing cordial relationship with Ekiti people

During the campaigns in 2015, he left his followers with a message: Unu ja akota sign. This message has since become a popular cliché in Abia State, transforming into a socio-political construct that re-occurs in every political discussion in the state

Ever since he lost the governorship election in Abia State to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, Otti has found it increasingly difficult to adjust properly and regain composure. Apparently distempered, disoriented and divorced from polite communication, Otti has resorted to abusive and “gutter” language in characterizing Ngwa leaders.
