The Independent National Electoral Commission Returning Officer in Niger State, Prof. Abdulganiy Ambali, has declared the All Progressives Congress, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello as the winner of the state governorship election.
Bello emerged after scoring 593,702 votes to defeat Alhaji Umar Nasko of the Peoples Democratic Party who polled 239,772 votes
While announcing the results, the Returning Officer in the early hours of Monday said Nasko won in Magama, his LGA, after garnering 20,036 votes, leaving the APC candidate with 18,864 votes.
The All Progressives Congress candidate won in 23 out of the 25 LGAs as announced by Ambali.
