The Federal Road Safety Commission has warned those who want to make use of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and the Ijebu-Ode-Sagamu Expressway on Wednesday morning of traffic congestion on both roads.
While the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway is blocked at the Ibadan axis at Olorunsogo Bus Stop, that of the Ijebu-Ode-Sagamu Expressway is blocked at the old toll gate.
A statement by the Coordinator of the FRSC’s social media said the Ijebu-Ode-Sagamu Expressway would be closed to traffic to evacuate a tanker, which fell, with the content spilling on the road.
The Commission thus advised motorists to use the Ore-Shagamu-Ijebu-Ode carriageway.
The Commission said another accident involving a trailer, which fell at the bad road portion of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway at Olorunsogo Bus Stop, after the Ibadan toll gate towards Iwo Road, has resulted in serious traffic.
“There is a heavy traffic volume as all motorists are forced to use only the Ibadan-Lagos carriageway,” the FRSC said.
It thus advised motorists to be patient and cautious as FRSC and other agencies tackle the problems.
