FAAN standardises operations at Port Harcourt International Airport

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria has moved domestic flight operations to the old international terminal of Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, following the commencement of operations at the newly inaugurated international terminal.
Henrietta Yakubu, General Manager, Corporate Affairs of FAAN, via a statement on Wednesday in Abuja, said the authority had collapsed the make shift tent at the airport to enhance passengers’ comfort.
She explained that the former local departure lounge would serve as local arrival hall, while the erstwhile international departure lounge had been converted to local departure lounge.
She said: “Following the recent commissioning and movement of international operations to the new international terminal at the Port Harcourt International Airport, FAAN has moved domestic flight operations to the old international terminal of the airport.
“With this development, all domestic arrivals have now been moved to the old international terminal.”
The News Agency of Nigeria recalls that the airport had been handling all operations from the old terminal with minimal or zero level of comfort for passengers.
President Muhammadu Buhari inaugurated the new international terminal in October 2018 being the first of the four terminals under the Export-Import Bank of China and Nigerian Government 500million dollars loan agreement.
The rest are Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja and Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport. Abuja airport was inaugurated on December 20, 2018.
