The Ogbomoso Community Foundation says funeral rites for the late Inspector-General of Police, Sunday Adewusi, will commence on Tuesday.
This was contained in a statement signed by Amusa Ladiran, the Publicity Secretary of the OCF, and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria on Thursday in Ibadan.
NAN reports that the late IGP and Asiwaju of Ogbomosoland died on January 26 at the National Hospital in Abuja at 80.
Adewusi was the IGP from 1981 to 1983, a position he attained at age 45.
The OCF said the four-day event would commence on Tuesday with Tributes and Cultural Day organised by the foundation.
The programme would hold at the 1,500-seater Lecture Theatre, College of Health Sciences, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso,
It said a lying-in-state would hold on Wednesday at 40-42, Amilegbe Street, Ilorin, Kwara State from 2pm to 4pm and to be followed by a service of songs and night of tributes at Ilorin Township Stadium at 4pm.
The OCF said a commendation service would hold at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Sabo-Oke, Ilorin from 10am to 1pm on Thursday, while a lying-in -state/Christian wake-keep would hold at his ancestral residence in Ogbomoso.
The statement said the final funeral service would hold at Beulah Baptist Conference Ground in Ogbomoso on Friday, after which the interment would take place at his residence.
It said guests would be entertained at the Ogbomoso Recreation Club.
