The National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress has declared Saturday’s governorship primaries in Edo State inconclusive.
The declaration came after three of the aspirants declared themselves as winners of the controversial primaries.
The Eagle Online recalls that the Chairman of the Electoral Committee of the primaries and Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, announced Dennis Idahosa as the winner, while Returning Officer, Stanley Ugboaja, who started the announcement of the results at Lushville, and concluded it at the residence of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, declared Monday Okpebholo as winner.

Ojo Babatunde, who claimed to be representing the Returning Officers in all the Local Government Areas, declared Anamero Dekeri as the winner of the election.
But following an emergency meeting late on Tuesday, convened by the National Chairman of the party, Abdullahi Ganduje, who had initially backed the emergence of Idahosa, the APC declared the primaries as inconclusive.
The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Felix Morka, who read a terse statement to the media without entertaining any question, revealed the position of the NWC.
Morka said after the meeting, which lasted for about three hours: “The NWC resolves that the Edo State governorship primary election has not been completed and has now fixed Thursday, February 22, 2024 for the completion of the APC primary election process.”
