The Minister of Works, Arch. Mike Onolememen, has assured Nigerians that the dualization and the rehabilitation of approximately 250km Abuja–Abaji–Lokoja Expressway, which is one of the major corridors for the movement of people, goods and services in and out of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja will be delivered by the first quarter of 2014.
Onolememen disclosed this during his inspection visit to the four sections of the expressway earlier in the week.
Onolememen, while at Section I of the expressway, starting from Zuba to Sheda Village Junction, with interception from Giri Village Junction to Airport Link Road Junction, awarded to Dantata and Sawoe Construction Company Limited, commended the construction company on the pace of work.
The project, which has attained 46 per cent physical completion, he said, would be opened for motorists during the yuletide period to avoid the usual traffic gridlock.
