Delta wins 2nd National Youth Games

Team Delta on Thursday emerged the overall winner of the second edition of the National Youth Games in Ilorin, Kwara State with a total of nine gold, seven silver and 10 bronze medals.
Ogun State came second with eight gold, 12 silver and five bronze, with host state, Kwara, in third position with eight gold, seven silver and six bronze medals.
Team Akwa Ibom finished fourth on the final medals table with eight gold, seven silver and five bronze, while Anambra State occupied the fifth position with seven gold, three silver and eight bronze.
Rivers State had two gold, five silver and five bronze medals to finish sixth on the log, with Ebonyi State in seventh position with two gold, two silver and four bronze.
Kano had two gold, two silver and two bronze in the eighth position with FCT in ninth with two gold, one silver and five bronze medals.
In 10th position was Nasarawa State with two gold, one silver and four bronze medals, while Team Kaduna had two gold, one silver and four bronze in 11th position.
Team Niger occupied the 12th position with two gold and four bronze medals, while Taraba State finished 13th with one gold and two bronze.
In 14th position was Jigawa State with one gold and one bronze medals, while Plateau State finished 15th with three silver and five bronze medals.
Yobe had three silver, two bronze in the 16th position, with Adamawa in 17th with one silver and one bronze, while Gombe with one silver was 18th on the final medals table.
Team Imo only managed to win six bronze medals in 19th position,, while Bauchi finished 20th on the log with five bronze.
Benue, Ekiti and Sokoto States all participated without winning a medal.
Abia, Bayelsa, Borno, Cross Rivers, Edo, Enugu, Katsina, Kebbi, Kogi, Lagos, Ondo, Osun, Oyo and Zamfara States were absent at the games.
