Nigeria’s national daily, the Daily Times, will return to the news stands on Monday.
According to a statement by its Publisher, Fidelis Anosike, the Daily Times promises a robust engagement with the public on the media’s time-tested duty to inform, educate and entertain.
The newspaper will, however, be fully guided by its motto: “For the interest of the people without fear or favour.”
The Daily Times of Nigeria is the country’s oldest privately-owned newspaper, which consistently hit the 800,000 mark in copy sales in its heydays.
As the industry’s most successful brand, the Daily Times was the compass for both the leaders and the led on personal and national issues.
The reborn Daily Times promises to be this and much more.
The editorial team is being led by an amazon of the industry, Gabriella Osamor, as Managing Editor, with another thoroughbred journalist, Oluyinka Olujimi, as editor of the daily title.
Other titles will be added in due course.
