The Police Service Commission has approved the promotion of two Assistant Inspectors-General of Police and 30 Commissioners of Police with effect from August 25.
A statement announcing the promotion on Friday and signed by commission’s spokesman, Ferdinand Ekpe, also approved the elevation of seven other Commissioners of Police on acting capacity.
The spokesman of the force, DCP Emmanuel Ojukwu, is among the officers promoted to CP on acting capacity.
The AIGs are Buhari Tanko and Johnson Ogunsakin.
It named the CPs as Pius Imue, Valentine Ntochukwu, Felix Ogundeji, Frederick Lakanu, Hilda Ibifuro-Harrison, Michael Ogbodu, Nwodibo Ekechukwu, Etop James, Ademola Omole and Olushola Amore.
Others are Joshak Habila, Adegbuyi Damilola, Rasheed Akintunde, Istifanus Shettima, Jimoh Ozi-Obeh, Ibrahim Lamorde, Ghazalli Mohammed, Peace Abdallah, Victory Menta, Clement Adoda, Austin Iwar and Adekunle Oladunjoye.
The statement also named other beneficiaries as Adaji Gabriel, B. T. Sobulo, Mohammed Hussein, Ishaku Barau, Emmanuel Inyang, Olufemi Oyeleye, Gabriel Achong and Ezekiel Zang.
The other commissioners of police promoted on acting capacity are Wilson Inalegwu, Mani Usman, Fatai Owoseni, Moses Jitibor, Adeyemi Ogunjemilusi and Ibine Emanuel, said the statement.
The Chairman of the PSC, Mike Okiro, congratulated the newly promoted officers and advised them to see their elevation as an opportunity to serve the country patriotically.
