Chelsea’s move for Emmanuel Emenike could be set to go ahead after Fenerbahce reportedly offered the Super Eagles’ star to the Blues for £15 million.
Chelsea’s interest in Emenike emerged last week, with the 27-year-old impressing Nigeria’s run to the last 16 of the World Cup, where they were narrowly beaten by France on Monday.
Emenike scored 11 goals in 27 appearances in the Turkish Super Lig last season and could be the first forward to join Jose Mourinho’s squad overhaul this summer.
The west London club is set to part ways with Samuel Eto’o, while the futures of Fernando Torres, Demba Ba and Romelu Lukaku remain up in the air.
Mourinho looks certain to add Atletico Madrid hitman, Diego Costa, to his side this summer, with the Blues having agreed a £32 million deal with the Spanish champions, while they are also said to be eyeing up Mario Mandzukic and Pierre Emerick Aubameyang.
