The Cable News Network will this weekend on its magazine programme, African Voices, profile change agents taking giant strides in Africa.
Globacom, which sponsors the broadcast of the programme, said in a press statement in Lagos that the edition, themed: “Change Makers,” would feature the Founder of African Leadership Academy, Fred Swaniker, and the Chief Executive Officer of Africa Basketball League, Ugo Udezue, a Nigerian.
Both are among outstanding Africans who nurture dreams of a better world and better future.
According to CNN: “These individuals are shaking up the status quo and simultaneously empowering their fellow countrymen.”
Udezue was born in Enugu State, Nigeria 37 years ago.
He is a former basketball international who once pitched tent with Wyoming in the United States.
He recognises basketball as more than a game and has a personal mission to build a sports empire from the scratch.
Udezue is billed to tell viewers about his goal “to provide a safe and socially conducive entertaining environment with basketball as the epicenter” as well as his hopes that the ABL, which he co-founded will “unite Africans through sports”.
His counterpart on the programme, Swaniker, a Ghanaian entrepreneur and leadership development expert, has launched five organizations aimed at developing leaders primarily in Africa.
He will be discussing his pet project, the African Leadership Academy, whose objective is to develop 6,000 transformative leaders for Africa over a 50-year period.
African Voices is beamed on CNN International at 10.30am on Fridays and repeated at 2.30pm on Saturdays,12.30am and 7.30pm on Sundays.
Repeat broadcasts could be viewed on Mondays at 11:30pm and on Tuesdays at 5.30pm.
