Nigeria beat Bafana Bafana 3-1 in their African Nations Championship match in their final Group A clash at Cape Town Stadium on Sunday.
Enugu Rangers winger, Ejike Uzoenyi, opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, before Ifeanyi Ede scored the second – from the penalty spot – eight minutes later.
Diminitive Uzoenyi made it 3-0 for Nigeria in the 63rd minute to put the result beyond doubt.
Bernard Parker scored a consolation goal for the hosts, through a penalty in the 81st minute.
.Having dumped out the hosts, South Africa, the Home Eagles are likely to battle Cranes of Uganda or Morocco in the quarterfinals at the ongoing African Nations Championship.
Though, the Group B final games will be decided on Monday, but the Cranes and their Moroccan counterparts look good to finish up as winner and runners up.
Nigeria picked six points from three matches to top Group A of the tournament and will fix a date with the second placed team in Group B.
Morocco will on Monday slug it out with Uganda in a supremacy battle of the group while Burkina Faso and Zimbabwe clash with the hope of sailing through to the knockout stage of the competition.
