Super Falconets have arrived Moncton ahead of their FIFA U-20 Women World Cup quarterfinal clash against their New Zealand counterparts on Sunday.
The Peter Dedebvo girls topped Group C with seven points to tackle the Kiwis, who placed second in Group D.
The Falconets left Edmonton on Thursday at about 11.30am, flew through Montreal to arrived Moncton at 21.15pm.
They have started training for the huge task ahead of them at the Harrison Trimple High School pitch.
All the players, according to the team’s media officer, Elizebeth Carr, are in good health, while Osarenoma Igbinovia who was absent against England due to injury, has returned in training.
The Kiwis defeated Costa Rica 3-0 to pick their first ever quarter finals ticket in the U-20 Women World Cup.
On the other hand, the Falconets made it to the final in Germany 2010 edition of the tournament and also in the 2012 semi finals.
Head coach, Peter Dedevbo, however, informed that there is the need to re-organise the team’s defence line.
Dedevbo said: “We have to make correction in our defence.
“We had a problem in the last game as a top defender was pushed to the midfield because Osarenoma was absent. But thank God she is back.”
The sweat merchant assured Nigerians that the Kiwis will be tackled with all seriousness.
