The presidential candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change, Alhaji Muhammadu Buhari, has rescinded his decision to quit the political scene.
In fact, Buhari has said that he would seek the highest political office in the land again in 2015.
Speaking on Friday when he addressed supporters of the CPC who visited him in Kaduna, Buhari said: “I am still in until the polity is sanitised and people enjoy the fruits of democracy at all levels of government.”
He said his decision is to continue to ensure that credible candidates are fielded by the CPC for all elective positions, adding that security agencies, the judiciary and the Independent National Electoral Commission must exhibit high degree of professionalism and patriotism at all times for the progress of the country.
The leader of the visiting team and chairmanship aspirant of the CPC for Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Ibrahim Kailani, urged Buhari not to quit the political scene.
Kailani said it would amount to abandoning the people.
