Voting has ended in the ballot to elect a president for the 9th Senate.
Senators Ali Ndume and Ahmad Lawan, both of the All Progressives Congress, are slugging it out.
The APC and President Muhammadu Buhari failed in their bid to prevail on Ndume to step down for Lawan as the party’s sole candidate.
The Peoples Democratic Party in the wee hours of Tuesday declared support for Ndume.
The counting of votes was ongoing as at press time.
