There is an ongoing communal clash between the people of Nembe Bassambiri and Nembe Ogbolomabiri, both in Nembe Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, The Eagle Online can report.
The Bayelsa state Deputy Governor, retired Rear Admiral Gboribiogha John Jonah, halls from the area.
Though details of the cause of the skirmish were scanty as at the time of filing this report, a citizen reporter who hails from the town, told The Eagle Online that the clash started on Tuesday morning and was still raging.
The citizen reporter said though he is in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, as at the time of filing this report, his relatives told him that the clash started when some youths from Ogbolomabiri went to destroy a bridge under construction.
The bridge was to link Bassambiri with Yenagoa.
The project is that of the Bayelsa State Government.
The police could not be reached for comments as at the time of filing this report.
