The leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, popularly known as the Shiite group, Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, on Saturday denied the news that he was dead.
El-Zakzaky said this during a meeting with the press.
He spoke against the backdrop of the news that he had died in detention.
El-Zakzaky has been in detention for over one year following the clash of his followers with troops in the convoy of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, in Zaria, Kaduna State.
