Borno gives Boko Haram victims N9.75m

Christian victims of the Boko Haram attacks in parts of Borno State have been given N9.75 million by the state government.

Those who benefitted from the government’s gesture were from Maiduguri and Jere Local Government Areas of the state.

Each family was given N250,000.

The presentation of the money was done by the Deputy Governor of the state, Alhaji Zannah Umar Mustapha, who is also the chairman of the committee set up to assess and assist the victims.

Mustapha said the token was to assist the victims, as nobody could replace lost human lives.

He told the victims to accept what has happened as an act of God while he appealed to the members of Boko Haram to cease hostilities,

Secretary of the state chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Rev. Faye Pama, thanked the state Governor, Kashim Shettima, for the gesture.
