Bolt named top male athlete of 2015

Jamaican Olympic gold winner, Usain Bolt, has been named the top male athlete of 2015.
This is the world-famous runner’s fifth such award from Gazzetta, having previously won it in 2008, 2009, 2012 and 2013.
Widely considered the fastest human alive, Bolt is no stranger to receiving awards. Among Bolt’s other honours are his six gold medals from the 2008 and 2012 Olympics in Beijing and London respectively, along with eleven World Championships.
Bolt’s trophy case is due for a few more additions next summer when he’s expected to compete for more Olympic gold when the games are held in Rio de Janeiro.
Bolt beat out tennis star Novak Djokovic and Lionel Messi by a wide margin of votes for the Gazzetta award, while US Open champion Flavia Pennetta bagged the female award for herself.
Team of the year was won by Barcelona, as the treble winners beat out 2015 Rugby World Cup champions New Zealand and the NBA Champion Golden State Warriors.
