Boko Haram, a collective challenge – Kalu

A former Governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Kalu, has called on Nigerians in the Diaspora to join hands with the government of the day in Nigeria to find lasting solutions to the insurgency facing the country.
Kalu made this remark on Friday while addressing a cross section of Nigerians drawn from the academia, business and corporate world at the Ledbury restaurant, London.
He said: “Some people have personalized national challenges by blaming President Goodluck Jonathan for Boko Haram without understanding that it is a collective challenge.
“President Jonathan is a parent and no father or mother will be happy to see their child or loved ones killed or kidnapped.
“The Boko Haram issue should be paramount to all Nigerians irrespective of age, religion, sex and political divides.
“Rather than apportion blame or condemn the Federal Government, we should support and complement the efforts of the Federal Government in curbing insurgency.
“The Federal Government is not only concerned about the security of its citizens but also committed to the general welfare of the people.”
Kalu warned stakeholders who have continued to heat the polity to desist in the interest of the nation.
